Description

Using NVIDIA Optimus with binary drivers on CRUX.

Instructions

Add group

Create bumblebee group:

groupadd bumblebee

Add yourself to the created group.

usermod -a -G bumblebee username

Get packages

You can find the ports on:

http://crux.nu/portdb/?a=repo&q=kris

Install packages:

libjpeg-turbo
libbsd
virtualgl
bumblebee
nvidia-ko
bbswitch-ko
nvidia-bumblebee

Optional: install 32-bit packages:

libjpeg-turbo-32
virtualgl-32
nvidia-bumblebee-32

Starting bumblebeed

Finally add bumblebeed to rc.conf

/etc/rc.d/bumblebeed start

Run

Use the NVIDIA card for a specific tool or game:

optirun glxspheres
