Release Notes for CRUX 2.2

Changes

• Switched from devfs to udev to support current kernels
• New rsync based ports backend
• 'base' ports collection renamed to core
• 'contrib' is now a user contributed collection

Caveats

shadow ports

Starting with shadow 4.0.15, useradd's defaults for the primary group has changed. If you're updating from 2.1, be sure to merge login.defs, which is rejected by default.

pkgconfig port

The pkgconfig port has been renamed to pkg-config. If you're updating manually (i.e. not using setup from the CD), you'll want to edit the respective line in /var/lib/pkg/db.

Known issues

• bc 1.06-2 segfaults when called in mathlib mode (-l, --mathlib); fix available in the ports tree, in 1.06-3
