Development Vision

This is a discussion document, to be used as input for an IRC meeting. It lists a number of things which could happen, but it's in no way binding.

• merge ISO generation with Matt's live-cd work
  • provide regular snapshots based on this merged version

• iputils, iproute2, iana-etc
• replace sendmail with postfix/exim/yoursuggestionhere
  • exim: no pre/post-install crap, runs sane/secure with default config, easy configuration although nearly anything is possible, can use text files for alias etc. (jue)

Later 2.x

• Work with the architecture maintainers on a multi-arch solution
• Introduce attribute based pkgutils
• SQL based ports db
