	2. add the truetype directory to your fontpath in
	   the xorg.conf file:

		FontPath   "/usr/share/fonts/corefonts/"

	3. create a font info database for the new fonts

	# cd /usr/share/fonts/corefonts/
	# mkfontscale
	# mkfontdir
	# fc-cache -f

	4. restart X or rehash the font path like so:
	
	# xset fp rehash
