as of version 3.7 the use of /etc/modprobe.conf is deprecated, *.conf files in /etc/modprobe.d/ should be used instead.


Problem is that even a empty /etc/modprobe.conf produces a nasty warning at boot time, so there's no other way than removing it from the port, but than users modifications will be lost after the update.

We decided to postpone the update until CRUX 2.6, where setup-helper can move modprobe.conf to /etc/modprobe.d/all.conf.

Updated to 3.8 for CRUX 2.6, I'll leave the ticket open until setup-helper has the associated entry
