while building /usr/ports/opt/hal:

... I don't know how important the files are and if the issue is x86_64 specific only

Hi,

seems to be no x86_64 related but a general issue.

I got exactly the same error on CRUX 2.7.1 i686.

for CRUX 3.0 (first official x86_64) both files are in the footprint
