DetailsWhen crux is booting off CD/USB, it searches for crux-media file, and then proceeds to mount the squashfs image.
This process expects the files to be in the root directory of the device. It would be more convenient to offer people who setup custom live usb media to define a prefix parameter, e.g. when booting with prefix=mycrux , init would search for mycrux/crux-media and mycrux/crux.squashfs files to mount. Similarily, the installer seems to be easily adapted to handle this parameter to expect packages to be under /media/mycrux/crux |

This is implemented in CRUX 2.8 as an unsupported feature. It's available but as it lies outside the official installation methods it's unsupported.
