- Are you able to compile something else?
- What's your way to 2.5-rc1, was it an upgrade from 2.4 via the CD or a fresh install from the CD?
- Have you checked the md5sum of the downloaded ISO file?
- Check the md5sum of the gcc-package (gcc#4.3.2-1.pkg.tar.gz), should be 8aba6ca999c52c4dc21f2596519b19ab
All md5sums were correct, both for ISO image of 2.5 and for gcc.
The way to 2.5-rc1 was an attempt at a fresh install on unallocated portion of hard drive.
In all cases the checksums were correct. The target machines were both Pentium IIIs (one Celeron), if that helps at all.
